2013-2014 School Hours Transportation Study

In February 2013, the Transportation Division published a report entitled  School Hours Study .  That document was informational and no recommendation was made.

On December 18, 2013 the BOE, during their regularly scheduled meeting, asked the Superintendent to create a chart of each school’s start and end times that reflected a 13 minute shift forward from its current times.  Additionally, the BOE asked the Superintendent to post this chart on the AACPS website along with a brief on-line survey asking constituents their opinion of changing the start and end times of their school as reflected in the chart.

The window for the public to access the survey opened on December 20, 2013 and closed on February 4, 2014.  The survey response data was shared with members of the BOE.  Respondents were also given the opportunity to make unstructured comments in the survey, which generated 7555 responses, totaling 366 pages.  All of the data and responses to the survey have been turned over to the Start Times Task Force for their review and analysis.  Additionally, the data and responses to the survey have been posted on the AACPS website.
