College-Ready Assessments and Supports

Under Maryland law, all students must earn an acceptable minimum reading/English and math score on the SAT, ACT, AP, IB, or Accuplacer exam in order to be identified as, "college and career-ready."

Beginning in the spring of 2017, AACPS will administer the ACT to all 11th grade students. Students may also choose to take the SAT or the appropriate English and Math AP or IB exams and the scores on these assessments may also be used to identify students as "college and career-ready."

Students who are not identified as "college and career-ready" by the end of 11th grade will have the opportunity to participate in AACPS-created Accuplacer support modules and to take the Accuplacer as another opportunity to be identified as "college and career-ready." The AACPS-created Accuplacer support modules can be accessed through the links on the left.
